• Q: What services does GM Yacht services specialize in?

A: We provide a comprehensive array of services including Maintenance plans and vessel “check ups”, Exterior and interior detailing, Teak cleaning and sanding, Compound, polishing, and waxing, ceramic coating, delivery captain & crew, and we can get nearly any project accomplished with the help of our network of reputable marine businesses.

  • Q: How often should my boat be cleaned?

A: There are a number of factors that will influence the answer to that question. As a basic rule of thumb, we recommend AT LEAST a bi-weekly washdown and interior touch up, and depending on location and usage that can be more or less frequent. Depending on the time of year and water quality, a bottom cleaning is recommended AT LEAST monthly, and immediately before any trips on the boat if it has been over a week since the last bottom cleaning. Some locations require WEEKLY bottom cleanings, but most boats can be sufficiently maintained on a BI-WEEKLY timeframe.

  • Q: Can you detail my boat in the water, or does it need to be hauled out?

A: While it is always recommended that the boat is OUT OF THE WATER for a detailing project, especially one that require extensive oxidation removal ( Wet sanding, heavy compounding, etc), these jobs can most certainly be done while your vessel is in the water, as long as there isn’t an unsafe amount of current or boat traffic where the vessel is docked for the duration of the project. Larger vessels with very tall hull-sides may need to be hauled out if the project requires heavy oxidation removal.

  • Q: Can you deliver any kind of vessel?

A: Yes! There is no vessel too big or too small, as long as we have good communication and a reasonable timeframe prior to the trip. We put together teams of experienced mariners; both licensed Captains and non-licensed, qualified crew members with the help of our network in the marine industry. We can do and have done “drop everything and go” style deliveries, but we always recommend at least one week of notice before the vessel needs to depart, to allow for weather forecasting, route planning, and time to build the necessary crew.
